A Couple’s Tale

How much (visual) information is necessary to interpret human relationships? By reducing the interaction of this couple to a few gestures, to how their bodies relate, eliminating all the facial expression – do we still  understand what’s going on?

Though being photographies, this visually very reduced series evokes memories of Japanese drawings, of black and white graphics – thus making this a timeless encounter between two people without any ties to a specific location.
