A woman in a long black dress, seen from behind, walks along a path with a dog; both are blurred by motion.

every adventure

When I was a little girl, my brother and I found an old suitcase full of yellowed comics in the attic.

There were hundreds of slim comic booklets featuring Sigurd, Falk and Timor, male heroes who fought wild animals and dragons.

But what fascinated me most was a series about an astronaut and his adventures in space:

NICK
Der Weltraumfahrer.

And one adventure fascinated me most. In one volume he became smaller and smaller and then he became smaller still and in the end he was small enough to fit into the tiny crevices of a metal cube the size of a palm.

And into it he flew in his tiny little spaceship. And inside this metal cube he found a solar system and entire galaxies, just like the one he had just come from.

Since then I have always wondered:

What will I find if I just look closely enough?

“It’s a poor sort of memory that only works backwards,” the Queen remarked.

“What sort of things do you remember best?” Alice ventured to ask.

“Oh, things that happened the week after next,” the Queen replied in a careless tone.

this is impossible

Sometimes I find myself in the strangest of worlds.
But they exist.
This photo is my proof.

schrodingers cat

As long as I don't open the box, Schrödinger's cat is both dead and alive. Reality seems undecided until our gaze forces an opinion.

Pressing the shutter is like opening the box of Schrödinger's cat. It preserves a fleeting moment for eternity.

And when looking at the picture we forget all the other alternatives, a moment before, a moment after, a larger or a smaller or an entirely different frame...

creating reality by pressing the shutter
