Triptych · Cape TownA triptych reveals the hidden rhythm of a lively beach on a Sunday afternoon. By layering several photos taken at precise intervals, I captured the invisible choreography of the beachgoers. What seems like mist at first glance are the ghostly traces of human movement, revealing patterns invisible to the naked eye.
Together, the three panels form a wide stage like in a theatre and create an image that pulses with life. Solid figures blend with translucent shapes and show both moments of stillness and flowing movement. This makes the ebb and flow of the crowd visible, much like the waves breaking on the shore.
The result is a dreamlike scene that shows not only what the beach looks like, but also how it feels to immerse oneself in its energy. By making visible the otherwise invisible flow of human activity, this triptych invites the viewer to experience the vitality of a crowded beach in an entirely new way.
